Charters Friends is a voluntary group of parents, staff and friends of Charters School from all year groups.  Our aim is to provide a social network around Charters and help to create a sense of belonging to the school and its surrounding community.

We meet once or twice a term to exchange ideas and views, look at ways of creating opportunities for parents, friends and staff to socialise with each other eg our Christmas Shopping Evening or Summer Festival.  We also support the school, where required, at important school events and activities by helping to serve teas and coffee. Please contact Denise MacDonnell who would love to hear from you if you would like to help out d.macdonnell@chartersschool.org.uk.

One of Charters Friends early initiative, is our Book Club, which now meets half termly on a Monday evening in the Durning Room, and has already proved very popular.  If you would like to join the Book Club please contact Sue Roche on sue.roche1@btinternet.com.    As a result of joining this some of our Book Club members have already branched out into organising occasional local cinema and theatre trips so, if something comes up that sparks your interest and you want some friendly company, you are welcome to join us for any of these outings.

In the summer months, when it is warmer, lighter and drier, we also organise early evening walks in Windsor Great Park or Ascot Racecourse.   This is an ideal opportunity to catch up with friends and news at Charters, keep fit and walk the dog all at the same time!

Details of all our events and activities area are listed in the Headteachers’ Weekly Update.  This is constantly updated so do keep checking to see if anything interests you.  We hope there is something here that appeals to you and if you have any other suggestions to add to the pot, we would love to hear from you.   Please contact chartersfriends@chartersschool.org.uk  to share your thoughts, or to find out more or please come along to one of our meetings.  All welcome!
