Dance
GCSE RESULTS
Dance students at Charters School will become confident performers within both a supportive and professional performance environment. They will develop a knowledge and understanding of the progression of dance throughout history and through this will extend their curiosity, appreciation and analytical skills of professional works. They will become explorative and creative choreographers who are willing to take risks and experiment with ideas. Finally, they will have the interest to challenge and extend their technical ability in a variety of dance style.
This means:
- They will have the opportunity to perform within lessons to peers as well as in the annual dance show.
- They will study a range of professional works, which use a variety of choreographic approaches, styles and themes and learn how to analyse all of the production features involved.
- They will learn about several choreographic approaches and have the opportunity to apply these to their own work.
- Throughout the curriculum students will experience a wide range of styles during technique classes.
